Absolutely a Big Mistake
Today it was my turn to feed our dog, Scrappy.
It was fun. Today it’s my first day in grade 1. I
Am very scared. Wish me luck!
From Anna .K
Today I read my sister’s diary, Anna. I knew it was wrong, but I couldn’t help it! Anyway all she writes about is what she does all day. (BORING!!) I fell asleep just reading it. It’s winter now and snow is piling up our driveway. Great, and this year it’s my turn to clear it with my snow shovel! Anna did it last year but dad helped her! Do I get any help, NO! So during the Autumn I had to practice shovelling things up to get into the mood, so when winter came it wouldn’t take me 3 hours doing it! Most kids don’t even have to clear their own driveway! They just get money for nothing! I’m not going to complain but it is a bit NOT FAIR! I work 24-7 for nothing! Now I’m sorry about my behaviour you see I have a problem. I cannot control my temper. While I was to busy trying to control my temper I didn’t notice I was still in Anna’s room. Now I knew that I wasn’t allowed in her room but I had forgotten. There was a sign on her door saying:
Keep out! And this means you Brigeta
Yes, as you can see it has my name on it (Brigeta) so technically I’m definitely not allowed in her room. And if I was caught in her room, who knows what she’ll do to me! Luckily she was at her first day at school so I could stay in for a while. You’re probably wondering why I’m not at school. The truth is I’m sick. I’ve got a bad bug that wants to stay in me forever! I continued reading her diary.
Dear diary,
Do you know who I like? I do! Guess! That’s right Sam!
Bye!
Anna .K
Well that was short but now I know who she likes except I don’t know who the heck Sam is but, oh well! Mom called up to me, “ Honey I’m bringing up chicken noodle soup for you o-kay!” “ O-kay mom!” I yelled down to her. I quickly and quietly jumped into my own bed. My mom told me to stay in bed but I decided to just look in Anna’s room while I still could. Mom brought up the soup and took my temperature. I was 37.0 degrees Celsius. My mom got some medicine and gave 2 spoonfuls of disgusting grape flavoured medicine. (GROSS!!) I gagged it up but my mom told me in an angry but soft way to swallow. I swallowed it up and nearly puked. I quickly took a sip of my soup, but that made it worse. My mom looked at me in a funny way for a second and then went back downstairs. I jumped out of bed running all over the place to try to get the taste out of my mouth. I tried soap, EWWWW!!!! I spat the soap out immediately and got a glass of water, gulped it down and finally the taste was gone. I should’ve known water would’ve got that taste out of my mouth in the first place! So I went back into my sister’s room. I started looking and snooping about for a few hours. I had finished my soup on my sister’s bed. I was looking about on her bed when I saw I had left a soup stain on her new blanket of Barbie! I kind of felt sorry for Barbie with a splotch on her face. What was I thinking! I was 11 now Barbies are little kid stuff! But then I remembered when I “Accidentally” got a bit of “ washable” marker on her new Barbie doll at Christmas. She went crazy. She started hitting me with Ken and breaking all my new “ washable” markers! Then got her hands in mud and squished her grotty hands on all my clothes including my bed! She took my candy and ripped my stuffed animals. Talk about a taking a spazz! She was furious! Now who knows what she’ll do to me when she sees the stain! I panicked quickly running around and biting my nails. Then I came up with something. I tore the blanket off and through it in the laundry chute. The blanket went flying down it. Phew! That was a close one. Then I noticed that I needed to get to the laundry to get a new clean blanket to put on her bed. I couldn’t go downstairs because mom is there. There was only one thing to do! Go down the laundry chute. I squeezed into it, took a deep breath and went flying down it. There were turns here and turns there. I didn’t know the laundry chute was so long! Finally I saw light. Then as soon as I could say Yippee, I was sitting it a pile of dirty clothes, socks and blankets. They were all in a humungous basket. I tried to get out. I didn’t budge; I started to get a bit frustrated. I tried and tried to get out. Then the basket started to wobble. I hadn’t known that the basket had wheels beneath it. It started to rock. It fell over, with me in it! I was soon covered in clothes. I spat out a sock that had been in my mouth. Eww! I struggled to get up. I finally did. I got all of the clothes off me and went to the clean section. I found a clean pony blanket for my sister’s bed. I quickly scooped it up and started to the stairs. Luckily my mom was on the phone outside so I quickly got back upstairs. I spread the new, fresh, clean blanket on her bed. I spread it neatly on her bed so that no wrinkles were there. That’s what she likes. She’s so fussy that one time she saw a wrinkle on her bed that she screamed to mom to come up and straighten it. It was finally over with. I started to read a bit more of her diary when I noticed a book. It was of ancient Egypt. I started to read:
Cleopatra was born in the capital of Egypt called Alexandria. She was born in 69 BC.
I continued to read the book for a couple of hours. By then I practically knew everything about her. She was the last of the pharaohs of Egypt. Then I started to get a bit tired and then fell asleep. I soon woke up and started to feel a bit bored. So I went back to my room and got out my laptop and started to write a story called the sick day. Then as soon as I started to type I still felt bored. Suddenly I remembered about the laundry chute. I climbed out of bed and went to the laundry chute. I lifted the slide door and squished inside and went whizzing down. I even tried to put up my hands and scream but I didn’t because then mum could hear me. I twisted around the corners and soon fell into the clump of clothes smothered on the floor I had stammered on earlier. I soon started quietly climbing up the stairs and squeezing into the chute and flying down again and again and again. I kept on doing that for half an hour when it wasn’t amusing me as it used to when I first went whizzing down. I went down the chute once more before going upstairs again. I went to my sister’s room again and started to jump up and down on her bed. As I was jumping I noticed I was making humungous wrinkles on her blanket. I stopped straight away and jumped off. I tried to straighten it out. It didn’t straighten one bit. I heard mum say, “Sweets, I’m going down to the laundry. O- Kay?” “O-Kay!” I yelled back to her. I quickly ripped off the blanket and through it down the chute. I heard the phone ring. This was my chance to go down the laundry chute, grab a new blanket and get upstairs. I snuck out of Anna’s bedroom and went down the chute. I got out safely and got a new blanket with the Easter Bunny on it. I ran out of the laundry and got upstairs just before mum hung up the phone. I was so puffed out that I fainted.
………………………………………………………………………………
An hour after I had fainted my mum came in and saw me on the floor, screamed and then called the ambulance. So here I am in the smelly, old hospital sitting in a very comfy bed I have to admit. I watched T.V for 15 minutes and then was able to go home. After an hours rest I got up again to go into Anna’s room. I heard the front door slam. I ignored it. I saw the blanket I had gotten when I was in the laundry. I had ran up so fast that I dropped it in her room and ran back into mine and fainted. While I was in the hospital my grandma and friends had come in to see me. But I was still in a deep sleep so they just left some chocolates, flowers and cards with presents. I started opening my chocolates and eating them. I went back to my room and lay on bed until I heard a sound coming from my window. Someone was throwing stones at my window. I looked out and saw my friend Lizzie. I opened my window and yelled, “Hi Liz!”
“ Hey! Bregita can you come out?” she replied.
“ I don’t think so!”
“ To bad! Later!’
“Bye!” I shouted back to her.
I gave out a big sigh. I wished I wasn’t sick but that didn’t help me at all. If I wasn’t sick I could’ve climbed down the vines on our house and left a note on the window for mom saying:
Dear mom,
I have gone to hang out with Lizzie.
Don’t worry there won’t be any boys.
From Brigeta. J
But, that’s not going to happen because I’m sick! I went in my sister’s room and started snooping around. I heard the door slam. Once again I ignored it. I took out my sister’s diary and started to read it. Some one was coming up the stairs. I didn’t care. I continued to read when I was stopped by a loud voice,
“BRIGETA! GET OUT OF MY ROOM THIS INSTANT!!!!”
I couldn’t believe it but it was my sister, Anna standing in the doorway. She was furious. Her eyes were squinted and you wouldn’t believe it but I thought I saw smoke coming out of her ears! She stomped up to her own door and ripped off her sign. She came close to me and put the sign right in my face.
“Read it!” she yelled right in my face.
“O-Kay! Keep out and this means you Brigeta.” I said with my hands over my face to protect it just encase she did anything bad to it. Then she started to talk about all the rules in her room. I sort of fell asleep for half of it then she yelled, “Do I have myself clear!?” she nearly had smoke coming out of her ears like the last time. I said no before and that’s when things got messy. But this time I said, “Yes you have my word. I will not go in your room again.” She just smiled a sly smile and ran out of my room got her leftover lunch of tuna and poured it all over my head. I tell you, that day was an absolutely a big mistake.

The Secret Room
It all began at my mother’s birthday, my mother and father didn’t care about me, and they thought I was too selfish, actually everybody thought I was too selfish. At that moment when I heard that rumour being spread all across England, I didn’t care about my parents, nobody. The horrible moment was when my parents didn’t let me to any of the grand parties that we always held at our beautiful ballroom. My mother and father always thought I was going to cause trouble like I did at the other party that was held at our mansion. So while I was sitting on my mother’s bed watching the party from her window I saw something sparkle in my mother’s jewellery box. I opened it mysteriously and slowly, and then I peeped inside. I gasped, because right there in my own mother’s box I saw the most beautiful necklace ever! I picked it up, and I carefully put the gorgeous piece of jewellery around my neck. I glanced in the mirror at my reflection, and at that moment the necklace sparkled very brightly! It shone like the sun! The TOO bright light blinded me. As I was trying to not let my eyes look at the light something happened. It grew windy outside or should I say VERY windy. Our housemaid ran into the bedroom screaming. “ A hurricane is on it’s way miss! We’ve got to get you down in the basement!” She grabbed me by the arm and heaved me down the stairs. The maid ran upstairs and rushed outside to warn the party guests. I waited in the basement for a long time. The maid didn’t come back. I started to cry quietly. And snuggled down in my sweater to try and keep warm. I took off the necklace and stared at it. I noticed that it was a locket. I opened it up. My mother and father’s picture was in it. It was them cuddling together at there honeymoon. I stared at the picture, then after a while, I fell asleep.
I woke up by the sound of sirens. I heard people tearing the roof off our house to see if there were any survivors. I screamed for help. Somebody heard me and got some people to get in special suits to get down to me. They finally got me out of there. They took me back to the police station and the chief of the police officers was talking on the phone to an orphanage housekeeper and said they could do with one more orphan. At that second a man took me by the hand and pulled me towards the carriage waiting outside to take me to the orphanage. He pushed me in the carriage and pulled me down to sit in a VERY uncomfortable seat. The carriage started to move. I looked out my window at the beautiful country, but now it’s gone, the hurricane was very bad. It blew our house down. But outside was worse, the party was crashed, food bits were all over the place. After an hour of sitting in the dumb fancy hot rod I seemed to notice that the country side was getting more beautiful, the hurricane didn’t come across this land. I stared out the window a bit and while I was doing that I saw a girl galloping on a horse. I sat up straight and watched her ride the horse so carefully and studied her movements. I took out my notebook that my father had given to me for my birthday. I opened it to the first fresh page and started writing and sketching the girl. Before I knew it we were at the orphanage. The man pushed me out of the carriage and rang the doorbell of the orphanage. A little girl who looked tired and dirty opened the door. “ Hello, can I help you,” the little scrubby girl asked. The man told the girl that there was a new orphan. The girl who seemed to be a maid ran into the house and came back with a bunch of scrubby girls and took my clean hands with there dirty ones and pulled me into the orphanage. “Get you scrubby hands of my clean delicate draws.” I said with so much rudeness. I almost was about to say sorry about my words and I should be more polite with my language but the girls just giggled with delight and didn’t pull me this time they gave me a cookie and then gave me a little push to get going. The man left without saying good-bye. And everybody says I’m rude! The girls took me to the bedroom that I would be staying in. I was in a bedroom by myself. There was only a closet, dresser and bed in the room. It was completely empty and ridiculous. I opened the curtains and saw a beautiful view. I unpacked my bag and took out books and started to read. After a full hour of reading a little girl that was 5 came into my room and asked me to read her this book. I immediately said with no care “ No!” she had tears in her eyes and started to walk slowly out of the room crying. I felt so terrible and mean that I couldn’t help myself but I said, “Okay, I’ll read you the book” she ran back with joy and hugged me tight. I was surprised anyone was going to care for me. I hugged her back. I read her the book. The rest of the day I helped other with learning to read and write. I don’t think they didn’t go to school. Finally I went to bed. I struggled to get to sleep. I sat up and saw a sparkle I followed it to the curtain. I lifted up the curtain and saw a middle-sized door. That was when I found the secret room
The housekeeper said to stay on our bed and read until supper, and to not go wandering off. I knew I was supposed to stay on the bed but I just had to see what was behind the little door. I twisted the handle but it was locked. “ Darn!” I said in an angry voice. I turned around. My eyes widened as I saw a little chest near the window. “ Maybe that’s where the key must be to the little door I found!” I thought. I crawled quickly to the chest to make sure nobody found me. I tried to open it. It only budged a tiny bit. I said to myself, “fine I’ll just have to get you open whether I have to work all night!” I worked until 8:00pm. I had a break because it was suppertime. But straight after supper I got back to work on trying to open the chest. Finally at 11:00pm I had opened the chest. The little girl who I had read a book to came into my bedroom. She had woken up from a nightmare. She saw me around the chest. She came near me. “ Suzan? Is that you?” she asked me tiredly. “ Yes.” I told her. “What are you doing?” I told her I found a secret room. But she was a bit to tired to hear. As I was telling her she just went back to bed. So I continued to look inside the chest. At the bottom was just sand. I rustled through it and found a little key. “ Yes!” I thought out loud. I kneeled by the door and put the key in. I opened it, was pitch black. I found a match and candle. I lit it. I opened the door a bit wider, and crawled in. soon before I knew it I crawled into this big room. I turned around in a circle with the candle trying to see what underneath the darkness. As far as I could tell I was in a one-roomed house. There were 3 beds in a corner; next to it there was the kitchen. The kitchen didn’t look like an ordinary one. It had a wooden bench with a big bowl that was used as a sink. Next to it was another, larger bowl that was also known as the laundry. In it sitting there was an olden-day washing board. The next part of the room looked like a play area for children. I saw a little rattle and fluffy teddy bear. I went over to the teddy bear and picked it up and examined the little fluff ball. Out of the darkness I heard a noise. There was a big bowl tipped over. I carefully walked over to it and lifted it up. Under it was a little baby that was only14 weeks old lying on the ground curled up on the cold floor sucking its thumb. It looked starving. It had giant bags under its eyes. Its clothes were rags. A girl who looked tired and hungry stepped out of nowhere and picked up the baby. Then a boy stepped out and hugged the girl who was around about 12. They looked poor. “ Why your all cold!” I looked at myself dressed in a nice warm blanket. I felt terrible. I handed over the blanket. “ Here,” I said. “ Keep it.” I said nicely. The girl said, “ Thank-you, we really do appreciate it!” Then the boy whispered in my ear, “ Were free!” then he smiled and then the rest of them smiled. They looked like a perfect family. Then the smiles dropped. Something was making a whistle noise. It dragged them away. The last words I heard from the boy was, “ Beware! She’s coming! Run!” I ran as fast as I could out of the room, through the door and shut it. I took out the key and jumped into bed. I had the key in my bed. I remembered the boy all night. He was my age 11. The next morning I got dressed in red chequered dress with a little with petticoat underneath the dress, a red headband and an apron so we didn’t get our dresses dirty. I went down and had breakfast. It was eggs and sausage. Then I went up to read to help digest my food. After an hour of reading I sneaked off my bed and went down to the kitchen. I took a few bits of white and brown bread into a clean handkerchief. I also found some carrots, beans and broccoli in the fridge. I found some bananas for the baby to eat. Then I went up to my room and kneeled down to the curtain. I opened it up and there was the little door. I put down the food and reached into my pocket for the key. I took it out and jabbed in into the lock. It opened slowly and I picked up the food and crawled into the room. I saw the children cleaning the room. “ Hi,” I said, “I bought you some food! Here have it. Dig in!” “ Thank-you, we haven’t eaten in 2 days!” said the girl who was already digging into a piece of bread. The baby managed to just crawl over and grab the banana. The boy lifted her up and unpeeled the banana for her. “ I’m sorry! I couldn’t find any hot food! I’ll bring you some tomorrow!” I said remembering that they were freezing yesterday. “ That’s alright, this is a thing we barley ever do.” The boy said, “What do you mean?” I asked suspiciously. “ I mean that we barely ever have time to eat!” the boy said staring at his older sister. “ How rude of us! My name is Alice!” the girl said nudging her brother to tell his. “ Um, yes, ahh, my name is Luke and this is Kate” the boy said looking at his younger sister who seemed to be chewing on a rattle. “ Well, I, ahh have to go” I said rushing out of the door. “ Bye!” Luke said and smiled at the same time. And before I knew it I was crawling on my knees again. Emily my friend in the orphanage came into my room and said, “ Can we play schools again!” “ Alright, but no more after this one okay!” I said sounding very grumpy. After 2 hours of playing schools I decided to go down to the kitchen and have some lunch. I always tried to get there early so I could get the best seat. Today’s menu was chicken soup. I asked for seconds and thirds but I didn’t eat it I was saving it for Luke and his sisters. It was still hot so I made a quick dash to the secret room before the food got cold. I got the key and pushed the key into the lock. It opened and I yelled “ Lunch!” Alice thanked me and took the soup. I felt proud of what I had done for Alice and her siblings. I got changed into a white silk dress and jumped on my bed. I read for 2 hours. Reading was a habit ever since I came to the orphanage. I took out my notebook my father gave me. I stared at the picture I drew of a girl on a horse. I had also taken a picture with my camera of the girl. She looked so happy, so free! But then I remembered that Alice wasn’t free, and Luke wasn’t free! I had to do something. We all went on a field trip to the library. I went to the information section. I got a book on homeless children. And children in poor parts Africa. I studied them. We went back to the orphanage. In my notebook I started to write a story on homeless kids. I started writing more. I asked Alice if I could take a picture of them for a poster so people would adopt them. That night I went to the secret room again and asked them, “ Why don’t you come out?” “ Because were afraid.” Luke told me. “ Don’t be silly, come on.” I said grabbing their hands and pulling them towards the door. They stepped out. “ WOW!!” they said as they saw light and brightness. I showed them my room. I gave Alice 4 new dresses that I got that was too big. They were red, white, yellow and blue. They fit her perfectly. I introduced them to Emily and my other friends. Suzy who was a toddler gave me some clothes that were too small so that Kate could wear it. John a boy gave Luke some pants and shirts. 2 families came in and one of them chose me! And the other family chose Alice, Luke and Kate. I packed my bags and went with my new family. “ Bye Kate, bye Luke and bye Alice! I’ll never forget you!” I took a picture and waved one last time to the children from the secret room. My plan had worked. Now I’m 37 and now I work in the same old orphanage I lived in where I met Alice. But now I work as a maid and teacher at the orphanage. But every now and then I visit the SECRET ROOM. And I’m still wearing that necklace of my mother’s.
Death Island
RRRING!!! “Oh!” Ben said as he woke up on a sunny morning. His alarm clock had been set for a certain time, 6.30am. He jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. He opened the door to the pantry and got out a box of cereal. It was Chocolate Puffs, he always ate them for breakfast. He ate them quickly. When he had finished he filled the sink with warm water and soap. He got his bowl and washed it until it shone. Finally he dried the bowl and put it in the cupboard. He went upstairs and brushed his teeth. Next, he got dressed and went downstairs to make his lunch for school.
He practiced his timetables and then watched T.V. His mother had just woken up from a tough sleep. You see, Ben has a baby sister who always cries at night. Poor Mrs. Albert. She had been awake for the whole night, trying to get baby Betty asleep. She finally found out that Betty had done an “ Accident” in her diaper. And that’s why Betty couldn’t get to sleep because she was so uncomfortable. Ben told his mom that he would be leaving to go pick up Sally and Harry at 8.30. Sally and Harry were Ben’s best friends. They had known each other since they were in Kindergarten. Soon, it was 8.30 and Ben raced out of the door with his backpack. Harry lived the closest to Ben so he got picked up first. Harry was waiting outside his house on the sidewalk.
“ Hi Ben! Dude you look a bit funny. Are you O-Kay?” Harry said to Ben as he approached his house. He answered, “ I’m fine. Oh, and how are you?” Ben asked.
“ I’m good. Let’s go get Sally. You know how fussy she is when were late!”
“ I know!” Ben said to Harry.
Harry and Ben set off to Sally’s house. They saw her come rushing up to them.
“ Hey guys! Let’s get to school!” Sally said to Ben and Harry puffed out. Ben and Harry looked at each other in a funny look. It was only 8.35. Sally seemed in a big rush. Ben shrugged and hurried to school.
“ There’s a new book coming out called DEATH ISLAND!” Sally told them.
“ Cool!!” Harry said and looked at Ben raising his eyebrows.
“ Oh come on Harry you can’t force someone to play along with your silly plan to pretend to be interested.” Sally said rolling her eyes.
“How did she know my plan?” Harry whispered to Ben. Ben shrugged again keeping quiet. He was thinking about that book called DEATH ISLAND. When they got to school, Sally put a finger to her lips to say, “ Keep quiet”. They did what she said and kept quiet. She gave them a sign to follow her. They did the same. They followed very move of Sally’s, until they were in the janitor’s office. The janitor was Sally’s big brother who was 22. He was young but friendly. He handed the book to Sally.
“ Thanks bro!” she told him sweetly.
Harry rolled his eyes. He looked at Ben. Ben did the same. He rolled his eyes. Sally took the book and her brother John opened a secret door. They went in. It was a place with a candle surrounded by cushions. John lit the candle and sat on a cushion. They did the same and sat down on a cushion. Sally opened the book. As soon as she read the first word they were all sucked into the book! It’s hard to believe but it really happened. This is the time to put down the book. I warned you!
Anyway back to the story. Ben, Harry, Sally and John woke, and they were on an island. A land not on the map. They were on a mysterious island.
“ Where are we?” Sally asked sounding really scared.
“ No Idea! But it sure is freaky!” Harry said taking pictures all around. You see, Harry always brings his camera everywhere he goes.
“ Oh shut-up Harry!” Sally snapped. She was scared. And she did not want Harry making stupid jokes at this time.
“ Ohhh! Something stinks! You farted Harry!” Ben said giggling and holding his nose at the same time.
“ No I didn’t! Sally did!” Harry said laughing his head off.
“ Stop fooling around. But I agree! Somebody make an accident in his or her pants. They all turned to John.
“Don’t look at me!” John said. He turned around. He bumped into something. Sally stood mouth open really wide. She screamed, “ MONSTER!!!!”
“Ahhhhhh!!!” Harry yelled.
“RUN!!!” Ben shouted. And John nearly fainted from the shock, but kept running next to Sally.
They started running as fast as they could, but the beast was catching up. They were running and watching the beast trail behind them when they fell down a deep hole. “WHOAH” they all screamed as they went whipping down the hole. They finally were at the ending. They noticed that they were in a different part of the mysterious island. But then Sally yelled, “ Where’s my brother John!!” It echoed all around. Ben and Harry finally found out that John was missing. Then the bushes started to move. And out of the bushes came John. But he wasn’t himself. He was a…a…ZOMBIE!!!! I know you wouldn’t believe this but it was true. To prove it he was walking around with one arm, green face and was chanting, “ I am a zombie, I am a zombie.” There, do you have enough proof?! Sally screamed, Ben yelled, “ I want my mommy”, and Harry was saying, “ Cool!!” and started to take pictures. Ben started to cry and Sally Slapped him in the face saying, “ Pull yourself together boy!!”
But as they were too busy slapping each other John the zombie lurked closer. I down, 3 to go. Suddenly they heard a scream. It was not them. They started to run away from John and run towards the scream. They got closer and closer until they were lured to a spooky cave. Sally heard chanting of I am a zombie again and pulled Harry and Ben down, behind a rock. As soon as Harry was about to ask Sally why she pulled them behind the rock he saw a whole trail of zombies coming out of the inside of the cave. Ben put his hand over his mouth to stop him from making a sound. But no one told Harry to be quiet he started taking pictures and saying, “ Beautiful darlings you’re looking great!” he tried to sound like one of those dumb camera men when they’re taking pictures of models.
The zombies ignored him until he took a picture with a big flash. Their eyes grew wide and turned to their direction. “ Oh no!” Sally said she grabbed them both and ran to the exit of the cave. But zombies were coming from all over! They didn’t know what to do!
They were everywhere, everywhere I tell you! Not a single spot to run. And they were coming closer, closer and closer! “ This is it guys!” Harry said rubbing his eyes with a handkerchief.
“ No it isn’t. I mean not for you guys!” Sally said sobbing.
“ What do you mean?” Ben asked sounding really scared. But sally didn’t answer all she did was wink at Ben and she stepped forward, Ben Saluted to her and all the Zombies crept forward and took a bite of poor Sally. “ Here’s our chance to get out of here!” they ran out of the cave safely, and as they were running they heard a scream.
They held their heads low in dismay. 2 down, 2 to go. They wandered in the forest a while. Luckily they had their bags for school and got their lunches out. They nibbled on their food because there was still a long way to go. They were walking through the jungle type forest when they saw a girl that was dressed in rags hiding behind a rock. They finally saw her teeth and noticed she was a vampiress. She started to hiss. She kept on doing it. Harry whispered to Ben nervously and said, “ This is freaky. What would Sally do in a situation like this?” Ben answered, “ I don’t know! Lets just RUN!!”
They ran through the forest with the vampiress on their trail. They soon ran out of breath. Ben stopped, and the Vampiress tried to bite him but her teeth luckily didn’t get through his shirt to bite into the flesh that she needed to drink. As soon as she tried to bite him he pushed her to the ground and started to run again. When they had ran as much as 400m they stopped behind a tree and caught their breath. “ Phew! That was close!” Harry said really tired from all that running. Ben struggled to stand up. “ What was that?” Ben asked, “ I heard it again!” Ben said looking all around wandering about trying to figure out what made the sound. “ Well I didn’t here it.” Said Harry following Ben around like a puppy. “ I heard some singing. Hey there’s some water. We can take a sip from it to keep our energy.” Ben said, following the sound of the sweet music.
They finally reached the river and began sipping. Ben took a sip and when he bent down to sip some more water he saw a pretty girl swimming in it. It was a siren. A siren made men (including all boys) fall in love with their beauty and singing and lure them in the ocean and drown them. They started to sing. Ben got carried away with it. Harry had taken a small sip and then went into a flower field. He thought he’d be funny by stuffing flowers in his ears. “Hey look at me Ben” Harry said stupidly. But Ben was too carried away with the singing and nearly fell into the water. “ Hey Ben…hello…Ben can you hear me?” Harry said waving his hand in front of Ben’s face trying to get Ben back into focus. But it didn’t work, he just kept creeping forward to the river. Harry held him back from falling in. He put some flowers in his ears to see if it would stop him from acting weird. As soon as Harry put the flowers in Ben’s ears he snapped back to focus. They both were confused and left the river and took their bags.
They took the flowers out of their ears and put them in their bags just encase of any other weirdness. They came to a place where they found a peaceful river and checked if there were any sirens in there (Just to be safe.) they got some wood and big leaves so they could build a small shelter because it was starting to rain. They made a frame out of the wood and covered the empty spaces with thousands of leaves. They got their coats and put them on the bottom of the shelter so they could lie on it. They got in it and got math homework out to do, since they had nothing else to do. The rain stopped and they continued to walk through mud and water. It was torture! They finally reached the ocean.
They were building a boat when a poor man came running to them. He said, “ Cannibals! Cannibals!” He screamed and ran back into the forest. Harry looked at Ben and shrugged. But the old man was right. As they were about to sail away a big crowd of Cannibals was running to get them. Ben screamed and ran out of the boat, but Harry didn’t. He kept sailing away. He saw them chase after Ben and capture him. Harry held his head low in dismay for Ben and Sally were gone. The sailboat sailed peacefully through the sea. But a couple of hours later he saw a boat following him. He yelled to it saying, “ HELP! HELP!” and the boat came closer and closer. As soon as he saw who was driving it he screamed. It was Sally. But it somehow was not herself. She was a zombie. And behind her was John the zombie as well!
